Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are thin colored shells made of porcelain, or composite resin that is custom made, and will cover the front surface of the teeth. Veneers can be used to fix broken or chipped, stained, misaligned, worn down, uneven or abnormally spaced teeth. Having Veneers allows the patient to improve the appearance of their smile by providing a more natural, brighter look.
Porcelain Veneers are bonded to the front surface of teeth, allowing the patient to eat, drink, and speak normally. To prepare for a Veneer the dentist will remove some of your existing enamel from the tooth’s surface to prepare for the Veneer. Next, the dentist will take an impression of your tooth (teeth) and that model is sent out to a lab to make the custom veneers for you. Once the Veneers have been made, the dentist will permanently cement the Veneers to your teeth by using a light beam to harden the cement faster. Your teeth will appear brighter and more aligned and it will leave you smiling.
